Cold Spring Harbor Asia conferences are held at Suzhou Dushu Lake Conference Center in Suzhou, China, sixty miles west of Shanghai and in easy reach of international and domestic airports. Suzhou is an ancient city known as the Venice of China, famous for its canals and private gardens and home to scholars for more than two millenia. Symposia, conferences and summer schools follow the Cold Spring Harbor tradition in showcasing merit-based scientific advances in an informal but intense atmosphere.

To encourage significant international participation from throughout Asia, Europe and the Americas, the language of all programs will be English.

Reviews For Past Events

"I have been invited to the Suzhou site twice this year (for the inauguration symposium on cancer and RNA biology symposium). On both occasions I enjoyed very much the quality of science and the richness of culture... not to mention the food!"

"Cold Spring Harbor meeting series are the best of its kind in the world, for not just faculty members but also postdocs and graduate students. This is why it carries tremendous significance to China’s life science research community to bring the meeting series to the beautiful city of Suzhou. I attend the CSH conferences every year throughout my independent research career. Beginning in 2010, I no longer have to travel to the east coast of the United States – I simply go to the scenic city of Suzhou and enjoy the full benefits of CSH meetings.
I have been to many meetings. Honestly, with the attraction of CSH-Suzhou meetings covering a range of life science frontiers, I don’t have much incentive to go to any other international meetings. CSH-Suzhou meetings are truly a wonderful training ground for PhD students, an interactive forum for postdoctoral fellows, and an idea-stimulating place for principal investigators.
Although China offers numerous meetings (Society meetings, international conferences, symposia on select topics, etc), CSH-Suzhou meetings are irreplaceable for their superb quality, true international nature, and the professional service and tradition. Please feel free to use any sentences or shuffle their order."

"I am now realizing that time pass so rapidly. Indeed, 4 months has already passed since the CSH Asia meeting for Molecular Switches and Genome Function in Stem Cells & Development. With such an excitement in the meeting, I am very grateful for you to provide me an opportunity to organize this valuable meeting. I hope that I will be able to have another chance to contribute to the future activity of CSH Asia. Considering the enormous potential of Asia, I fully agree with an idea of the organization like CSH Asia. As you know, the problem of Asia as compared with US and EU is that government budget size for life science is still too small in many countries. Thus, the location of CSH Asia allows young researchers from many Asian developing countries to have access to valuable symposia and courses more easily than before. Also important possibility of CSH Asia would be to facilitate the collaborations among Asian countries. While science per se is international, importance of regional collaboration has been understood well from the example of EU. I thus hope that CSH Asia will play a role with this respect by providing a useful platform. One concern with this respect is that the meeting in CSH is too gorgeous as compared with that in the CSH, which may discourage participation of developing countries. Thus, we need to negotiate with our government to raise some money for supporting researchers from those countries. I congratulate again for your great success in CSH Asia and wish your future development as an Asian center for life sciences."
--Shinichi Nishikawa

"Life is a wide range spectrum of emotions. In this school I felt the most motivating ones and they will always be engraved in my mind! Thank you!"

"Overall, the course was excellent, flawless organization, open‐minded staffs and faculties. I'm glad I decided to take part in this program."

"It’s the best course that I’ve ever taken!"

"It was an amazing experience and really beneficial. I learned many new things and feel glad to meet all these people and make new really nice (neuro)friends."|
